Fabrice Gerard, is an innovative and dynamic leader with +15 years of global experience in public, non-profit and private sector organizations addressing major global health issues affecting un-served and underserved populations in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.

Following studies in Laboratory Sciences and various diplomas in Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Fabrice spent several years collaborating with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and strengthening laboratory services in HIV/TB highly affected countries. In Paris, he conjointly led the development of a state of the art TB laboratory dedicated to stigmatized and under-resourced populations.

In 2005, Fabrice moved to the Clinton Foundation and was appointed China laboratory manager. He led the Clinton Foundation’s laboratory support to NCAIDS, China CDC and various other partners at national and/or provincial levels assisting the countries HIV/AIDS response. In China, Fabrice placed special focus on increased access to high-quality laboratory medicines essential to patient monitoring (e.g.haematology, biochemistry, CD4 and HIV Viral Load testing) in close collaboration with a network of international and domestic experts.

In 2008, Fabrice moved to the private sector and successfully held various commercial and non-commercial positions at Abbott Molecular, playing a key role in the conception and implementation of innovative international & in-country partnerships to increase the utilization of more advanced technologies.

In 2015, Fabrice established himself as an independent consultant. He specializes in transformational projects to deliver new technologies and/or solutions to ease high-quality laboratory medicine in Africa and SE Asia.

His major area of expertise lies in Business Development & Strategic Consulting, health policy, Stakeholder/payer management including local and international funders, Public Private Partnership.

Fabrice speaks English and French, and lives in Vietnam since 2009.

Laurence Phillips

Laurence Phillips, is a scientist with over 20 years of experience in the clinical development and commercialization of human pharmaceuticals and molecular diagnostics. After studies in Biology and Chemistry, Laurence began work at the University of Würzburg before joining the pharmaceutical industry in 1994.

In 2000 he led Boehringer Ingelheim’s global virology business building the drug portfolio. He was active in the development of many studies which explored the efficacy of nevirapine and tipranavir. An important result of these studies was the Viramune Donation Program for which he which was globally responsible. Laurence served as chair of the Accelerating Access Initiative and advanced industry programs to promote access to care. He headed the first major pharmaceutical initiative to create ARV combination regimens and was responsible for the development and execution of voluntary licensing agreements in India and South Africa.

In 2005 Laurence moved to the AXIOS foundation and began work as Vice President of Strategic Development. He guided drug access programs in Tanzania and founded programs to increase the availability of quality diagnostic services. He moved to Abbott pharmaceuticals and later to their molecular division.

At Abbott, Laurence was responsible the clinical development of EID and Viral load assays. He worked extensively with the Clinton Foundation to establish an industry partnership program designed to reduced access pricing to quality diagnostics. He was responsible for the development of the Abbott DBS program and invented a new method of collecting blood for which he received a US patent.

He served as clinical / business advisor during the evaluations, development and in-licensing of molecular based assays and helped to develop sample collection methods for an MTB molecular assay.

In 2015, Laurence established himself as an independent global health consultant specializing in emerging and transforming markets. Areas of expertise include, pharmaceutical and diagnostic sciences, marketing and market development, business development, strategic consulting, stakeholder management, funder recruitment, health policy

Laurence speaks English and German. He lives in Germany since 1988
